Mavin Comms 300x200

Public Relations on a shoestring budget

Want to know what makes the press ‘tick’? Do you know your ‘news’ from your ‘features’; your ‘print’ from your ‘broadcast’; and your ‘bloggers’ from your ‘vloggers’?

Have you also ever wondered how some brands use other stories as a platform for their own (think Oreo’s Super Bowl Tweet)? OR whether it is possible to link different channels like social media and direct marketing into a single, coherent story.

During this session, you will learn:

– Why the press is still relevant in the modern channel mix

– 5 killer questions ALL journalists want to know

– That content is still king and what makes a great story

– The most cost-effective channel: print, email or social media?

– Top 10 tricks that startups can use for FREE

Andrew Hadfield (Director of Mavin Communications) shall be discussing all the above and much more in a seminar exploring how to use PR on a limited budget.

We’ll teach you some PR basics using real case studies as examples, and you’ll get an opportunity after the session to use your new-found knowledge with practical help to execute your own content.

Andrew Hadfield, Director and founder of Mavin Communications has over twelve years experience working in the public and private sectors.

He set up his company after leading communications teams for seven years at Westminster and Camden Councils. Andrew saw a gap in the market for startup companies and social enterprises wanting support to market themselves as well as continue to provide the public sector with cost effective communications.

A Mavin is a trusted expert who seeks to pass on their knowledge to others. This last part is particularly critical for us, and we genuinely seek to build up a body of work – or in-house expertise – for the organisations we work for.

Andrew is also involved setting up a number of businesses including UBREW – a new type of Brewery on the fashionable Bermondsey beer mile; a music product; as well as a number of businesses crowdfunding. He has also recently working for Gresford Architects, Tree Shepherd, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Wikihouse.
